Introduction

Everyone who is looking for a place to satisfy their insatiable desire for adventure views it as a place akin to heaven. Ladakh, also referred to as the “Land of Passes,” is a captivating region of the Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir.

There are numerous hike trails and hiking alternatives in Ladakh, attracting adventure seekers from all over the world. One of the longest and most challenging bike excursions one may take in their lives is from Delhi to Leh Ladakh. Every rider wishes they could ride from Delhi to Leh Ladakh at least once in their lives, and the reason is obvious: it’s simply breathtaking. Imagine yourself riding over 15-foot-high snow walls when India as a whole is experiencing hot temperatures.

Best time to have this trip –

The optimum season to visit Ladakh is generally said to be between June to September. In addition to these months, you can ride a bike in the winter, although the cold weather will make your trip to Leh-Ladakh exceedingly challenging and difficult. It is hard to drive down the roads in Leh Ladakh during the winter because they are covered in ice. There are numerous locations you can pause to take in the wonderful atmosphere of the hills, and the weather is great.

Route for the bike trip

Delhi to Patnitop to Srinagar

The NH 44 is the primary route you take on this itinerary. The first portion of the ride is rather comfortable, but as you approach Patnitop, the road becomes narrower and there may be some traffic. Don’t forget to pay a visit to the Patnitop Naag shrine. The journey from Patnitop to Srinagar is brief yet pleasant. The road leading up to Titanic Point, which has nothing to do with the ship, is somewhat uneven, but after you pass past it, the route to Srinagar is magnificent.

Srinagar to Kargil

This road is among the most beautiful to drive on. Since the roads are so narrow, there will be some traffic in the area of the Gumri Post. You must pass Drass just before arriving in Kargil (the coldest place in India). The Gumri War Memorial and the Kargil War Memorial are two significant sights to see in Kargil.

Kargil to Leh

There are numerous fantastic sights to view along the way, including the Mulbekh Monastery, the Namik La Top, and the Lamayuru Monastery. The magnificent, colourful mountains that line the road from Kargil to Leh are the best part of the trip.

Leh to Tanglang La

Tanglang La is the first stop you can make on your trip from Leh back to Delhi. One of India’s highest passes, it is situated at a height of about 17000 feet above sea level. On both sides, the road on this section is beautiful to drive. Although difficult, this route is a lot of fun to ride.

Tanglang La to Sarchu

Drive till you reach the Lungta Restaurant along the Leh-Manali Highway. If you want to stay the night in Sarchu, there is a guesthouse nearby. Try the challenging hike in Zanskar if you love adventure sports.

Sarchu to Jispa

To reach Jispa, leave early in the morning. You will need to go via the frequently congested Rohtang Pass, so leave Sarchu early to beat the traffic. Visit the Triloknath Temple after you get in Jispa; it is a quiet and reverent setting.

Jispa to Manali

Jispa to Manali is the final stop along the Leh Manali Highway, and the route is beautiful. In addition to driving through the Leh Ladakh Bridge, you must also cross-National Highway 3. You can stop at Kothi, where there are a few restaurants, en route.

Manali and back to Delhi

Visit the Gurubaksh Dhaba in Roopnagar along the trip for delectable cuisine and beverages. The drive is enjoyable and the roads are superb as you pass Karnal.
